Welcome to the Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital Graduate Medical Education (GME).  We are an Osteopathic teaching facility with some of our programs are accredited by the American Council of  Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). In addition we offer programs in dentistry, oral maxillofacial surgery and podiatry.

Welcome to the Ascension Southeast Michigan-Osteopathic Division’s Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education (OGME) home page. Ascension Southeast Michigan–Osteopathic Division is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) as the sponsor for all osteopathic graduate medical education programs within Ascension Southeast Michigan hospitals. In addition programs in dentistry, oral maxillofacial surgery and podiatry programs are administered by the Osteopathic Division. Ascension Southeast Michigan is unique as the first system accredited in this fashion by the AOA.

 

Ascension Southeast Michigan has OGME programs at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Ascension Providence Hospital and Ascension St. John Hospital. Our primary purpose in all graduate medical education is to provide high quality learner centered competency based education in a hospital atmosphere conducive to learning. As part of Ascension Health our focus is to teach future physicians, dentists and podiatrists to be compassionate care-givers recognizing the importance of the mind, body, spirit in recovery with an emphasis on quality measurements to insure proper patient care.

 

All  Ascension Southeast Michigan teaching hospitals are Joint Commission accredited and the Ascension Macomb–Oakland Hospital is also accredited by the AOA’s HFAP hospital accreditation program. The internship/residency/fellowship programs are fully accredited by the AOA, dental programs by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and podiatry by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME).
