Resident Didactics
Program didactic sessions are held weekly Friday mornings, 7am- 11am. Each month is dedicated to learning topics beginning with Trauma in the first two months of residency and progressing to Dentoalveolar, Implants and Head & Neck Oncology. The four session include faculty and resident lectures, case discussion and/or workshops. Additional learning opportunities include six months of monthly oral pathology lecture series, six months focusing on clinicopathlogic cases conference, research lectures, ethics, professionalism, risk management, patient management, monthly Implant Conference, monthly journal club, orthognathic case conferences, visiting professor days, and bi-monthly Head & Neck Tumor Board meetings.
Morning Report
Residents are assigned either a review of clinical cases or provided didactic learning session correlating with the monthly topics. PGY1 residents are assigned clinical case presentations to emphasize the formulation of differential diagnosis and appropriate evaluation and patient management.
