Welcome to Ascension Providence Department of Medical Education!

Ascension Providence Hospital was established in 1869 and has two campuses: Southfield, a 395-bed facility, and Novi, a 259-bed facility. In 2017, there were over 35,000 admissions, 10,000 inpatient surgeries, 15,000 outpatient procedures, 4,000 births, and 130,000 emergency visits. Our robust clinical activities provide a rich learning environment.

Our medical center is a community teaching campus for Michigan State University College of Human Medicine offering third and fourth year students total and comprehensive education in the various disciplines of Medicine. In addition, students from other universities choose our medical center for their core and elective rotations.

Our graduate medical education program includes 18 residencies and fellowships with over 200 positions approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and the Council for Podiatric Medical Education. Our graduates provide expert services along the spectrum of patient care, research, and scholarship.
