Ob/Gyn International Rotation Elective
International Rotation Elective
Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting travel, and the civil unrest within Ethiopia, the International Rotation is currently not available. We hope to bring it back when the conditions allow.
Third year residents have the option of a one month rotation at St. Paul Hospital Millennium Medical College in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Our residents work closely with the OB/GYN residents from St. Paul Hospital and have many hands on experiences including operative vaginal deliveries, breech deliveries, cesarean hysterectomies, and many gynecologic surgeries. The rotation also includes one week at the internationally known Hamlin Fistula Hospital. This opportunity provides our residents with exposure to pathology not frequently seen in the United States and offers an exposure to international medicine. All expenses are covered by the Department of OB/GYN.
