Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital Podiatric Medicine Program Overview
Curriculum The Podiatric curriculum is designed to provide comprehensive training rotations resulting in a high level of competency in Podiatric Surgery. The program provides technical and academic opportunities through challenging rotations and didactic.
Rotations Clinical rotations are divided over the three-year program as follows:
PGY1 - Intern Year
- Podiatric Medicine and Surgery - 8+ Months
- Infectious Disease - 1 Month
- Emergency Medicine - 1 Month
- Internal or Family Medicine - 1 Month
- Anesthesia - 2 Weeks
- Pathology - 1 Week
PGY2 - Second Year
- Podiatric Medicine and Surgery - 9+ Months
- General Surgery - 2 Weeks
- Micovascular or Vascular or Othropedic Surgery Surgery - 2 Weeks
- Behavioral Medicine - 1 Week
- Radiology - 2 Weeks
- PMR, Neurology, Dermatology, Wound Care, Pain Management - 2 at 2 Weeks
PGY3 - Third Year
- Podiatric Medicine and Surgery - 12 Months

Research
We have all the necessary tools to do research with two dedicated researchers available to the residents to publish a case or apply for an IRB for true research projects.
